Better against English side

At first glance, this fixture only looks interesting to us because of the football star players who will be presented in this game; but in reality, this match’s importance also comes from the fact that Arsenal are an English side – and more precisely, a London side.

If one can remember, Barcelona’s last visit to England took place last season when they played against Chelsea in semi-finals of the Champions League at the Stanford Bridge (notwithstanding the Wembley Cup off-season tournament).Barcelona controversially held the home side to a 1-1 draw subsequent to a late Andres Iniesta equalizer, but the Chelsea players were furious following Referee Ovrebo’s failure to award them four clear penalties in total.

Well, that particular encounter against the Blues surely raised a lot of debates, and even today, the hit behind this game still hasn’t cooled down.

In any case, there is no doubt that English sides have been putting real pressure on the Spanish giants; seeing that even though the Blaugrana beat Manchester United 2-0 in the 2009 Champions League final, they drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in the Wembley Cup, and then lost 1-0 to Manchester City in a friendly later on at the Camp Nou.

This time, Barcelona meet Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, but can General Pep Guardiola and Commander Lionel Messi impose their power on the Londoners?

Certainly, the answer will only be revealed after the outcome of the clash appears; but in the meantime, assumptions and analysis can relentlessly keep flowing.
