Minister 'not furious' with Cricket South Africa

CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) announced on Tuesday that it had been in contact with both the Sports Ministry and the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) following the publication of a report in today’s issue of The New Age newspaper.

CSA has been assured that the Minister is “not furious” with CSA.

The Minister will be meeting with SASCOC to discuss their report of the recent CSA Board meetings that dealt with KPMG’s Independent Audit of CSA’s finances and with the legal opinion delivered by Advocate Azhar Bham SC.

“The Minister will apply his mind to the KPMG report, the legal opinion from Judge Azhar Bham, other related opinions relevant to the matter, recent documents and recent developments. The SASCOC report which the Minister will also be receiving before the end of the week will also be considered before the Minister decides on the course of action to be taken in relation to this matter,” the Ministry said.
