Alessio Cerci flattered by Man City interest, but not too keen

Manchester City’s manager Roberto Mancini still has a lot of interest in the 24-year-old Italian winger Alessio Cerci, but the player doesn’t seem all that prepared to go. The player recently offered a statement that might set Manchester City back a step or two in the attempt to bring him at the Etihad stadium.

Cerci did not dismiss a possible transfer completely, but he led us to believe that he is a Fiorentina player for now.

“It was a real pleasure to be linked with a club who are as important as Manchester City, but Fiorentina are my present and future.”, was quoted Cerci by TalkSport

Needless to say, Cerci is right to be flattered by Manchester City’s interest. He’s not even in Italy’s national squad and this move might bring him a lot of success as he might even get called up to the national squad if he will perform regularly.

There are two sides to the story. Cerci either wants Fiorentina’s fans to back him up, or he realised that there’s no room for him in City’s all-star team. But one thing is for sure, Manchester City will take a step back in any interest.
