UEFA Euro Cup 1980

Only 8 years passed before the Germans secured their next title. After defeating Czechoslovakia, Holland, and
Greece in the opening round, Germany got past Belgium, 2-1, in the final behind two goals by Horst Hrubesch.
This tournament would be the first of many for midfielder Lothar Matthäus, who would retire after Euro 2000 as
Germany's most capped (experienced) player with 150 national team appearances.
