Manchester City's Aleksander Kolarov rubbishes claims that he branded team-mate Carlos Tevez 'an idiot' following Munich snub

The suspended striker held talks with club officials on Monday and could learn of his fate in the next 48 hours, before returning to Argentina to serve his sanction following the episode.

However, Serbia international Kolarov dismisses claims that he made a quip at the striker’s apparent refusal and instead wants to stay out of the situation to avoid causing any real upset.

"It is really not true that I said that word to him," Kolarov told Mondo.

"I don't want to comment any more about this because I'm afraid that I will get misunderstood again."

Samir Nasri is also as reluctant to move into the spotlight on the row, but insists the action City have taken on the former Manchester United man is understandable.

He told reporters: "After we got back, the manager had a meeting with the players. He explained the situation and everything was fine.

"We understood the decision but we don't want to get involved too much. We just want to move on and play our football.

"That's what we do best so we'll focus on that."
